Temilade Openiyi, also known as Tems, a Nigerian musician and producer, took this a notch higher by being nominated for best original song this year.
Tems wore a voluminous gown by the Los Angeles-based label Lever Couture, ensuring that all eyes were on her. The stunning one-shoulder gown had a fitted bodice with a billowing skirt that cascaded into a long train. The structured headgear of the dress, however, literally drew everyone’s attention due to its size and shape, which blew up social media.
While fashion fans couldn’t get enough of her stunning ensemble, many people criticised the size of her headgear, which forced guests to peer around the singer to catch a glimpse of the show on stage.
